The archive of what I posted on Twitter, which I now self host due to a lack of trust in Twitter and some other reasons.

I'll soon begin refelcting all my Mastodon posts here too. I'm happier self-hosting or maintaining an archive of my content on URLs that I can own.

There are tools to help you do this too. Such as this one from the makers of Eleventy.

He draws on deep knowledge, research and experience.
He weaves in wonderful storytelling.
His voice has the gently lilting lyrical qualities of calm and friendly leprechaun.

@markboulton @overflowhidden @eleven_ty @NewsAPIorg @Netlify @googlefonts Coincidentally I just finished receding some videos of building example sites which included @eleven_ty and @NewsAPIorg.

Not as beautiful as these, but shows my workings.

Should be published in a week or so.

@ianfeather @paulrobertlloyd @eleven_ty One of the reasons I went that way was also the ability to keep everything on JS rather than messing with ruby. Which for me was a big simplification.

@ianfeather Depending on how exotic you have gotten with your Jekyll site, I've found it a pretty straightforward journey.

@paulrobertlloyd wrote some useful thoughts on this some time ago which is still worth a read.

The fact that @eleven_ty supports Liquid helps.

I love this post from @mojombo. It captures so much of my own feelings and enthusiasm for building for the web this way.

Very happy that he’s now on the board at @Netlify! https://twitter.com/Chr_Bach/status/1235254636358938624

"Year over year, Netlify has tripled its customer base and revenue, with already eight percent of internet users visiting a Netlify-powered website each month."
